Holidays Around The World in Special Education

The holidays are right around the corner, where in the world has this year gone?!

Last year, I created a Holidays Around the World product that was geared towards special education classrooms. There are a ton of products on TpT that cover the topic of Holidays Around the World, but none of them were differentiated for our students. With many of these holidays happening SOON, I wanted to give you a look inside this bundle.

Inside the bundle, you get the following holidays:

If you've been around here for a while, you know about my love affair with file folder activities. I made sure to include one errorless file folder per holiday, and even some holiday sorting file folders (in the bundle only!). These are a great way to incorporate the unit into you independent work centers for ALL of your students to access!

Also found inside the bundle (and each separate holiday product!) are these adorable adapted books and differentiated comprehension for each book. I wanted to be sure that the comprehension was differentiated to meet the needs of ALL of our students. There are multiple choice questions with visuals for your writers (or even use a bingo dauber!) and some larger cut/paste question opens for students who need a non-writing option. My favorite part of these is that you can differentiate the cut/paste option to create an errorless option or two answer choices for those students who require less answer options. There are also full page question options with large photo choices for the teacher to use in a whole group learning environment!

There are also vocabulary cards included. When I was in the classroom, I would utilize vocabulary cards during units by hanging them on the board and reviewing them each day during our circle time. These are a great way to discuss different items that are used during all of the different holidays.

Probably my *favorite* part of this entire product are the recipes. These were a labor of love and I LOVE the way they turned out! Each holiday either has a food recipe OR a craft - all with visual directions to use with your students! They are simple enough that you won't be pulling your hair out while doing them in school, I promise! :)

You also receive a variety of differentiated worksheets for each holiday! Included are cut and paste options, writing, vocabulary, color the pictures, and more. There are options for all of the learners in your classroom to participate!

I've also compiled a list of Holidays Around the World children's books if you are looking for book options to support each holiday. You can check out all of the books on my Amazon Storefront page.

Which holidays will you be teaching your students about this year? If you use any of my Holidays Around the World bundle, be sure to tag me in pictures on Instagram @myspeciallearners! I love to see & share what other people are doing with my products!
