About Me

Hi! My name is Kayla and I'm in my 7th year of teaching students with moderate to intensive needs. I attended Ohio University (go Bobcats!) and got my Bachelors of Education as an Intervention Specialist for students with Moderate to Intensive needs. I spent my first two years of teaching in North Carolina as a teacher in an Autism unit for students in grades K-2. I decided to move back to northeast Ohio to be close to friends and family where I got a job working in a school district as a K-5 self contained teacher. This school year I am teaching kiddos in just grade Kindergarten and 1st grade!

I love my job and my kiddos, there is never a dull moment in our classroom! I love looking back over the school year (or a few years, in some cases!) and seeing the amount of progress in independence, life skills, and academics.

When I started my TpT journey, I had NO idea how many new ideas, resources, and friends I would gain along the way. It has truly made me a better teacher and I LOVE that I get to bring ideas & my own resources to classrooms across the country!

In my free time, I love spending time with my dog Mindy, trying new beers or wines, exploring northeast Ohio (Cleveland is pretty cool guys, I promise!), and spending time with friends and family!
